Can Ego Be Good?

Can Ego Be Good?

Chances are very high that you have heard that having an ego is bad because that is what most people have been led to believe. Can ego be good?

The ego which is your sense of self, self-esteem, and importance can be good if you use it to express your uniqueness and allow it to serve, protect, and help you survive like it is meant to do.

A healthy ego will help you live a resilient and confident life, especially when facing fears and dangerous situations in life.

So, why have you always heard ego is bad? Let’s find out the answer to that question next.

Why Ego Can Be Bad?

Ego can be unhealthy and bad if it leads you to become selfish and egocentric and to always only be focused on serving yourself first over and above being compassionate, empathetic, and considerate of other people’s needs and feelings.

An unhealthy ego will also keep you stuck and prevent you from living your true, authentic, fulfilling, and purposeful life. Here are eight ways that the ego keeps you stuck that you need to be aware of and catch.

Attachment To A False Identity

An unhealthy ego can make you get very attached to a false identity which will end when you die because it is based on your roles, titles, credentials, and social status while on this earth.

Your real identity and true essence is that you are a soul that is temporarily having a human experience in your body. Your true identity is based on what your soul’s qualities are which is loving, peaceful, joyful, pure, divine, wise, and powerful.

Fear Of Rejection

You will fear rejection if you listen to your unhealthy ego because it will make you compare yourself to others, and worry about other’s judgement and opinion about you.

It will lead to you feeling angry, jealous, and envy others often because you like to feel more special and important than others.

Always remember that every soul is equal no matter what your status, accumulations, and accomplishments while here on this earth. You were perfectly made to fulfill your purpose.

Compete With Others

An unhealthy ego will make you compete with others.  It likes to feel superior and better than everybody else. This kind of life leads to constant striving to do better and better and never resting.

Your soul is content and knows it is on a journey and it is here to fulfill a purpose and it does not need to compare itself with anybody else.

Your soul would like you to be focused on utilizing your unique gifts and natural talents to fulfill your purpose and serve the people you are here to serve instead of wasting time competing and comparing yourself with others.

Have Rigid Belief Systems

Your unhealthy ego is content with its own rigid worldview and belief system is not accepting of others and does not want to learn, grow, or expand by being exposed to different perspectives from its own.

The purpose of all souls on this earth is to grow and then to serve others in a bigger and better way.

Act Like A Victim And Blame Others

If you like to blame others for all your problems and feel like you are a victim then you are being driven by your unhealthy ego.  It believes everything that happens to you is because of external reasons, situations, and other people.

Know that you are not a victim and 100% responsible for your life. You are powerful enough to create the reality and life that you want to create.

Be aware of your identity, beliefs, thoughts, feelings, attitudes, words, actions, habits, and character/personality because it will lead to your destiny.

Life always happens for you including all the challenges that are here to guide you and to help you grow.  If you point fingers and blame things outside of you then you are saying that you have no control over your own life.

Know without a doubt that you are a powerful soul that’s here to grow and then to serve.

Desire To Control Others

Your unhealthy ego needs to control everything and everyone for its own sake and to the detriment of everyone else’s views, and feelings.

Your soul is compassionate, empathetic, and kind and it would never need to control anything or anyone. It acknowledges all souls are equal and knows that every soul is on its journey.

It also trusts that life is always happening for it and so looks for lessons and blessings.

Be Attached To Possessions

An attachment to material possessions is something your unhealthy ego spends a lot of energy and focus on, obsesses over, and loves.

It feels that the more it possesses and owns the more successful it would appear in the society and the more respect and regard by other people it will be able to demand and get.

Always know that all of your material possessions will stay back when it is time for you to leave this earth. It has nothing to do with your true identity and it will not go with you.  Your soul is eternal and so fulfill your purpose and soul contract before it is too late.

Your soul will never die when it’ll leave your body.  Its Journey will continue beyond your lifetime so work on your purpose and connect to your soul to figure out why you are here.

Make You Fear Change

An unhealthy ego does not like change because it considers change unsafe. Know that we are here to change, grow, and evolve from all the challenges and overcome in our lives.

Our body will continue to change and the only changeless thing is your soul.

In conclusion, you now know that ego which is your sense of self, self-esteem, and importance can be good if you use it to express your uniqueness and allow it to serve, protect, and help you survive like it is meant to do.

A healthy ego will help you live a resilient and confident life as an individual especially when facing fears and dangerous situations inflicted on you in life.
